Victoria (Seychelles), Jun 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi on Monday after wrapping up a three-day official visit to Seychelles.

Before his departure, he took a moment to greet members of the Indian community who had gathered at the airport to see him off.

Earlier that day, Modi paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and engaged with the Indian diaspora in Seychelles.

A statue dedicated to Gandhi at the Peace Park serves as a significant tribute to his legacy in Seychelles.

During his visit to the park, Modi laid floral tributes and interacted with local children.

He shared on social media, "Bapu's ideals transcend generations, uniting people in the pursuit of peace, justice, and human dignity. His thoughts continue to inspire our collective endeavor for a better world."

Modi also enjoyed a musical performance by a local artist, while members of the Indian community welcomed him with small Indian flags.

His visit to the Peace Park followed a stop at the Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple, where he offered prayers.

In another social media post, he expressed gratitude to the Seychelles Hindu Kovil Sangam for their role in constructing the temple and promoting Indian culture and spirituality in Seychelles.

Earlier, Modi engaged in discussions with members of the Indian diaspora and took photographs with them in Victoria.

He remarked, "Had a wonderful interaction with members of the Indian community in Seychelles. They are making effective contributions to Seychelles' progress. At the same time, their connection with India is still very strong."

Modi arrived in Seychelles on Saturday and held extensive talks with President Patrick Herminie on Sunday.

"President Herminie and I reviewed the economic partnership between India and Seychelles. We explored new opportunities in various sectors including industries, connectivity, technology, digital infrastructure, and more. India will continue to collaborate with Seychelles in areas such as housing, healthcare, transport, skill development, food security, education, and defense," he stated.

Additionally, Modi participated in the golden jubilee celebrations of Seychelles' National Day as the Guest of Honour, marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Seychelles.

During a special ceremony, he was honored with the title 'Guardian of the Blue Horizon' by President Herminie before departing for India.
