Prime Minister Modi Commemorates One Year of Operation Sindoor with Social Media Campaign
Marking a Year of Operation Sindoor
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the first anniversary of 'Operation Sindoor' by changing his display picture across all social media platforms. He encouraged everyone to do the same as a tribute to the armed forces and their achievements.
Modi's profile picture on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp now features a black background with the words 'Operation Sindoor' prominently displayed. The image includes the national flag, and the word 'Sindoor' is creatively illustrated with a filled 'O' symbolizing the vermilion worn by married Hindu women.
In a post on 'X', the Prime Minister reflected on how, a year ago, the Indian armed forces showcased their valor during Operation Sindoor, delivering a strong response to those who attacked our citizens.
He expressed that every citizen takes pride in the Indian armed forces. Modi stated, 'In honor of our military and their success during Operation Sindoor, let us all change our display pictures on social media platforms like X, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to the image shared below.' He also shared the updated picture on his social media accounts.
Details of Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was executed by all three branches of the armed forces in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF) from May 7 to May 10, 2025. The operation targeted terrorist and military installations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
This mission was launched in response to a terrorist attack on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 25 tourists and a guide, all of whom were Hindu men.
