Honoring the Sacrifices of Freedom Fighters
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the sacrifices made by freedom fighters during Goa Liberation Day, describing this occasion as a pivotal chapter in India's national journey.
In a post on 'X', he stated, "Goa Liberation Day serves as a reminder of a crucial chapter in our national journey. We honor those who displayed unwavering courage, refusing to bow to injustice, and fought valiantly for freedom with determination and faith."
He further emphasized, "Their sacrifices continue to inspire us as we work towards the comprehensive development of Goa." This day is celebrated annually on December 19, marking the success of 'Operation Vijay' in 1961, which liberated Goa from Portuguese rule.
