Prime Minister's Breakfast Meeting with Rebel MPs

On Friday, a special breakfast meeting took place in New Delhi where Prime Minister Narendra Modi reassured rebel MPs that they need not worry. According to reports, he advised them not to be concerned about what is being said about them, emphasizing that there is no need for anxiety as he stands by them. This gathering was organized to welcome former opposition MPs during the monsoon session and to integrate them into the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Approximately 45 MPs attended the breakfast, including 20 rebel MPs from the TMC who recently joined the 'Nationalist Citizens Party of India' (NCPI), seven former MPs from the Uddhav Sena (six of whom have officially joined Eknath Shinde's faction of Shiv Sena), 20 MPs from the National People's Party (NPP), and two MPs from the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction). Modi urged the West Bengal MPs to enhance their outreach among the public, stating that the state's progress is crucial for the country's development. Sources present at the meeting indicated that each MP received a printout detailing their social media engagement and were encouraged by the Prime Minister to increase their digital connection with the populace.

Modi stressed that when Bengal thrives, India thrives, and he reminded the MPs that there is still much work to be done in the state. He also pointed out that development should not be confined to West Bengal alone, as the northeastern states also require improved connectivity and rapid growth. Additionally, the Prime Minister advised the MPs to undergo annual mental and physical health check-ups, highlighting the importance of staying fit for the significant tasks ahead.

The meeting also featured some light-hearted moments during tea. When macha tea was served, BJP MP Shatabdi Roy informed the Prime Minister about its availability in West Bengal. Modi reiterated that Bengal should reclaim its vital role in India's progress, recalling that the nation prospered when the state did. Laughter ensued when senior MP Sudip Bandopadhyay remarked that the Prime Minister is surrounded by several leaders who were once actors, including Shatabdi Roy, Sayoni Ghosh, Jun Maliya, and Rachna Banerjee, joking that the Prime Minister must stay fit to keep up with them.

NCPI MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar expressed that they are greatly impressed by Modi's wisdom and his approach towards them. She mentioned that he embraced them, stating they are all one family, and emphasized their commitment to working together for the significant progress of West Bengal, delivering a strong message about collaboration for growth and development.
