Formation of New NDA Government

This move will pave the way for the formal establishment of a new government led by the NDA in the state. Prior to this, a meeting of NDA legislators is also scheduled, during which a new leader of the legislative party will be elected. All eyes are on senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who is considered a strong contender for the Chief Minister position. Sources suggest that his appointment is nearly confirmed, although an official announcement is still pending.

Focus on OBC Community

Chaudhary, who hails from the influential OBC Koiri community, is being courted by both the BJP and the main opposition party, RJD. He was appointed as the state party president in 2023 and became Deputy Chief Minister a year later when the JD(U) leader returned to the alliance, bringing the NDA back to power. NDA legislators have been instructed to remain in Patna for the next two days due to important meetings ahead. During the legislative party meeting, the new leader of the alliance will be formally elected.
