On Thursday, President Droupadi Murmu expressed her sorrow over the passing of Swaraj Kaushal, the former Governor of Mizoram, highlighting that his contributions will be fondly remembered.

Kaushal, who was the husband of the late prominent leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, passed away on Thursday afternoon at the age of 73.

In her statement, Murmu remarked, 'I am saddened to learn about the demise of Shri Swaraj Kaushal, a former Governor of Mizoram, ex-MP, and a distinguished lawyer. His contributions will always be cherished.'
