President Murmu Congratulates Indian Athletes for Commonwealth Games Success

President Droupadi Murmu has congratulated Indian athletes Dilip Mahadu Gavit and Mohammad Basil Morsingankath for their outstanding performances at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Gavit won a gold medal while Morsingankath secured silver in the men's 100 meters T47 event. The President praised their determination and encouraged them to continue inspiring the nation. Additionally, she recognized Murali Shreeshankar for his silver medal in the men's long jump, expressing pride in their achievements and wishing them future success.

During the finals of the men's 100 meters T47 event in Glasgow, both Gavit and Basil showcased their unwavering spirit and determination by clinching the gold and silver medals. The President remarked that Indian para-athletics has written a memorable chapter in sports excellence. She warmly congratulated Dilip Mahadu Gavit for his gold medal and Mohammad Basil Morsingankath for his silver medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
