On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu extended her warm wishes to the people of Goa on the occasion of Liberation Day, emphasizing the nation's remembrance of the heroes who fought tirelessly against colonial rule.
In her message, Murmu expressed admiration for the unwavering commitment and dedication of freedom fighters and armed forces, stating, “I wish the people of Goa a bright and prosperous future. On Goa Liberation Day, the nation gratefully remembers those brave souls who fought relentlessly to free Goa from colonial domination.”
Every year on December 19, Goa Liberation Day is commemorated to honor the success of Operation Vijay, which liberated Goa from Portuguese rule in 1961.
