A meeting led by SDM Arun Sharma took place today to assess the preparations for the state-level Janmashtami Festival, which is set to occur in Nurpur on September 4 and 5. Various departmental officials gathered to discuss arrangements for the upcoming festivities.
The SDM instructed the Municipal Council to ensure cleanliness at the event site, while the Jal Shakti Department was tasked with providing drinking water and setting up temporary taps. Additionally, the Electricity Board was directed to guarantee a continuous power supply throughout the festival. He highlighted that responsibilities have been delegated to all relevant departments, with plans for another meeting to finalize details.
To accommodate attendees, a designated parking area will be established near the Savings Building. The SDM also mentioned that artists for the cultural programs scheduled for September 4 and 5 will be chosen soon. For effective oversight and coordination, Tehsildar Radhika Saini has been appointed as the festival officer.
Emphasizing the need for collaboration among departments, the SDM encouraged all officials to work together to ensure that the Janmashtami Festival is celebrated with devotion, enthusiasm, and effective management.
The meeting included participation from various officials, such as Forest Development Corporation Director Yogesh Mahajan, Tehsildar Radhika Saini, Tehsildar (Probation) Swati Walia, BDO Ashok Kumar, PWD SDO Umindr Singh, Municipal Council SDO Rajesh Chaudhary, Electricity SDO Puneet Kumar, Municipal Council Chairperson Niti Mahajan, Vice-Chairperson Sonia Soga, Temple Committee President Davinder Sharma, Medical Officer Dr. Maulshri, Mining Officer Suresh Kumar, and other departmental representatives.
