Preparations Underway for Chief Minister's Visit to Barak Valley

Silchar, Sept 22: In anticipation of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's upcoming visit to Barak Valley later this month, Cabinet Minister Krishnendu Paul convened a crucial preparatory meeting to evaluate administrative arrangements and review significant infrastructure initiatives in the area.

The meeting took place on Monday at the Assam Secretariat in Barak Valley, concentrating on finalizing the preparations for the Chief Minister's visit and ensuring effective coordination among relevant departments.

During the session, the minister assessed the progress of the Assam Secretariat complex construction in Barak Valley and addressed key road-related challenges impacting the three districts in the region. The status of various ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects was also scrutinized.

“In light of the Chief Minister's planned visit to Barak Valley by the end of this month, I led a preparatory meeting at the Assam Secretariat to evaluate and finalize the necessary arrangements,” Paul stated following the meeting.

“We also discussed the advancement of the Assam Secretariat's construction, major road issues throughout the region, and various ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects,” he added.

Attendees included Barak Valley Development Department Joint Secretaries Pankaj Kumar Deka and Khaleda Ahmed, Cachar Additional District Commissioner David Borah, along with senior officials from NHIDCL, the Public Works Department, Roads and Buildings, and other relevant departments.

Paul urged officials to accelerate any pending tasks, resolve coordination issues, and ensure timely completion of preparations. He emphasized the importance of each department fulfilling its duties effectively to ensure the success of the Chief Minister's visit.
