Preparations Intensify for Inauguration of Rajasthan's HPCL Refinery
Upcoming Inauguration in Barmer
Barmer/Jaypur. Preparations are in full swing for the inauguration of the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery (HRRL) in Pachpadra, Barmer district. According to the proposed schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the refinery on July 4, 2026.
In anticipation of the Prime Minister's visit, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held a review meeting with officials to discuss the preparations. However, the final schedule has yet to be released by the Prime Minister's Office.
It is reported that during this visit, Prime Minister Modi may also inaugurate the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport alongside the refinery.
Postponed Event
The inauguration of the Pachpadra refinery was initially scheduled for April 21 but was postponed due to a fire incident at the refinery site.
India's First Greenfield Integrated Refinery
The HPCL Rajasthan Refinery is the country's first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex project, with an investment of over ₹79,450 crores. It is expected to have a production capacity of 9 MMTPA (million metric tons per annum).
Focus on Security and Arrangements
In light of the Prime Minister's potential visit, the administration is working diligently to finalize security measures, the event venue, and other preparations.
