Political Turmoil in West Bengal Following Assassination of BJP Leader's Aide

The political landscape in West Bengal has been shaken by the shocking assassination of BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari's personal assistant, Chandranath Rath. Following the recent election results, reports of vandalism emerged, culminating in this tragic event. Rath was shot multiple times while returning home, leading to a wave of concern and unrest in the region. Local residents attempted to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Violence Erupts in West Bengal After Election Results

In the aftermath of the election results in West Bengal, reports of vandalism have surfaced in several areas. The situation escalated dramatically with the assassination of BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari's personal assistant.



Chandranath Rath, the aide, was shot dead, sustaining four gunshot wounds in the incident that occurred in Madhyamgram, Kolkata.


Details reveal that the shocking event took place in the Dohariya area of Madhyamgram, located in the North 24 Parganas district. Rath was returning home in his SUV around 10:20 PM after completing assembly work when a four-wheeler abruptly blocked his path near a biryani shop.


At that moment, four assailants on two motorcycles approached his vehicle and opened fire at point-blank range. Rath was hit in the chest and abdomen, while his driver, Budhadev Bera, also suffered injuries to his chest, abdomen, and leg. The attackers, who were not wearing helmets, fled the scene immediately after the shooting.


Local residents rushed Rath and Bera to a nearby private hospital, where doctors pronounced Chandranath Rath dead.
