Political Turmoil in Uttar Pradesh: Signs of a Major Shift in SP
Political Unrest in Uttar Pradesh
Following the intense conflict between Maharashtra's Shiv Sena (UBT) and West Bengal's Trinamool Congress, significant political shifts are now anticipated in Uttar Pradesh. Just a day after predicting a major split within the Samajwadi Party (SP), Om Prakash Rajbhar, a cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, stirred the political landscape with a bold statement on Thursday. He not only reiterated claims of an impending rift within the party but also hinted at who might lead the rebellious faction opposing Akhilesh Yadav.
Who Will Lead the Rebel Faction?
For some time, Rajbhar, the president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), has been vocal against SP leader Akhilesh Yadav. He alleged that a formidable "rebel faction" of SP MPs is forming. In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Rajbhar made a significant revelation regarding its leadership, stating: "Since yesterday, everyone has been asking if a split is imminent in the SP. So listen! A 'red' from Uttar Pradesh's 'rebel land' will lead the faction of rebel MPs from SP. Why wouldn't he? The way Brahmins were insulted under the guise of a conference at the SP office yesterday has deeply hurt the 'rebel Ballia' leader. The plan was already in motion, but yesterday's incident acted as a catalyst. A split is certain."
Rajbhar's Statement Sparks Speculation
Rajbhar's comments indicate that whispers of rebellion have been circulating for a while, but the alleged disrespect towards the Brahmin community at the SP office has accelerated this process.
Deputy CM Morya Supports Rajbhar's Claims
Meanwhile, several political figures, including Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Morya, have also claimed discontent within the Samajwadi Party. Speaking in Kanpur, Morya asserted that the BJP is poised to return to power in Uttar Pradesh with a significant majority, while the SP is likely to face another defeat. He further claimed that many SP leaders are dissatisfied with Akhilesh Yadav and that approximately 25-26 MPs are planning to break away from the party.
