Political Turmoil in Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray Calls Emergency Meeting
Maharashtra's Political Scene Heats Up
The political landscape in Maharashtra is witnessing renewed activity. The Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena is currently anxious about the potential 'Operation Tiger', which hints at another significant split within the party. To prevent his MPs from switching sides and to maintain unity, party leader Uddhav Thackeray convened a crucial meeting at his residence, 'Matoshree', on Sunday.
Only 4 MPs Attended in Person, 5 Joined Virtually
During this high-profile meeting, suspense grew as only four MPs were physically present at Matoshree. However, Shiv Sena leaders quickly clarified the situation. Senior party officials stated that all nine MPs participated, with four attending in person while the remaining five joined via video conferencing due to personal commitments.
Sanjay Raut's Strong Response
Sanjay Raut dismissed reports of MPs joining Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's faction, delivering a sharp retort to the media. He stated, "What 'Operation Tiger' are you referring to? We are all tigers ourselves. We are not afraid of anyone. We are about to initiate 'Operation Wolf'. Our nine MPs and parliamentary group are completely united and strong, and they will continue to stand together."
Reasons for Absence of Other MPs Explained
After the meeting, party leader Arvind Sawant explained that some MPs could not travel to Mumbai due to personal and family reasons. He mentioned, "One member's child is ill in the hospital, another's wife is unwell, and another has a daughter getting married, so everyone should understand these circumstances." Anil Desai added that such meetings among MPs and MLAs are a normal procedure. He emphasized that all rumors of a split are baseless, and all MPs stand firmly with Uddhav Thackeray.
