AIADMK Legislators Show Support for Thalapathy Vijay
In a significant political development, over two-thirds of AIADMK legislators gathered outside the office of state leader C.V. Shanmugam in Chennai, indicating potential rifts within the party. Approximately 35 lawmakers arrived at the Chennai office, representing a substantial portion of the party's strength in the new Tamil Nadu assembly. Shanmugam had previously won the Malam seat in the Tamil Nadu elections. Reports suggest that these legislators have urged AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami to consider an alliance with TVK, which is currently facing a shortfall of 10 seats for a majority. AIADMK spokesperson K. Satyan stated that the decision regarding an alliance with TVK will be made by the high command, dismissing any speculation of a split within the party.

He further mentioned that TVK has not invited any party for collaboration. If stability is desired, they must make a decision. AIADMK had fielded candidates in 169 assembly constituencies under the NDA alliance. The ruling DMK was limited to just 59 seats, with the remaining seats claimed by smaller parties like Congress and the Left.
