A new political controversy has emerged in Himachal Pradesh as Congress Mandi district president Champa Thakur has sharply criticized BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut for her contentious comments regarding Gen-Z women.

During a press conference held on Tuesday, Thakur accused the Lok Sabha MP of consistently using language that she deemed inappropriate for a public figure and not in line with the cultural values of Himachal Pradesh.

“The offensive language employed by Kangana Ranaut does not represent the spirit of Dev Bhoomi Himachal. Such remarks do not align with our cultural heritage,” Thakur stated.

Thakur escalated her critique by suggesting that Kangana's extended time spent in Delhi and Mumbai has alienated her from the values of her home state.

“It seems that her life in Delhi and Mumbai has impacted her judgment. This is why she continues to make irresponsible and shocking statements,” she claimed.

Furthermore, Thakur expressed that Kangana's repeated controversial comments have brought embarrassment to Himachal Pradesh and declared that she no longer views the BJP MP as a representative of the state's daughters.

“I hesitate to even call her a daughter of Himachal. She must stop using abusive and derogatory language. She has faced consequences for her past remarks and should learn from those experiences,” she added.

Thakur's comments were a direct response to Kangana Ranaut's recent statements in Delhi regarding the NEET protests, where the BJP MP allegedly labeled Hindu Gen-Z girls as a “gutter generation” and questioned their awareness. This statement has sparked significant backlash on social media and provoked strong reactions from political figures and the public, with many condemning her for making an insensitive remark.

In addition, Thakur announced a significant organizational initiative by the Congress in Mandi district, revealing that the party has successfully established block-level executive committees and appointed nearly 150 office-bearers to enhance its grassroots presence.

She mentioned that the performance of each office-bearer would be evaluated every three months, with non-performing members potentially facing removal from their roles.

“Our goal is to create a more robust organization while ensuring that the welfare initiatives of the Himachal Pradesh government reach every household through Congress workers,” she stated.

This latest exchange has heightened the political rivalry between the Congress and the BJP in Himachal Pradesh, with Kangana Ranaut's remarks continuing to ignite a passionate political discourse both within and beyond the state.
