Shivakumar has firmly rejected these speculations. He stated that Rahul Gandhi will remain the leader for him and his party workers. Addressing the media in Delhi, he dismissed rumors concerning Priyanka's educational background and her commitment to making her brother the Prime Minister of India. Shivakumar emphasized, 'I am not aware of these matters. My leader is the AICC president, and the leader of the opposition is Rahul Gandhi. Priyanka Gandhi's sole aim is to see Rahul Gandhi become the Prime Minister of the country.'

Following support from Priyanka Gandhi's husband, Robert Vadra, discussions about her as a potential Prime Ministerial candidate have gained traction within Congress. Vadra expressed, 'I believe Priyanka has learned a lot from her grandmother (Indira Gandhi), father (Rajiv Gandhi), Sonia Ji, and her brother (Rahul Gandhi). When she speaks, she speaks from the heart. I see a bright future for her in politics, and she will bring about the necessary changes at the grassroots level... Shivakumar also addressed rumors regarding a leadership change in Karnataka, asserting that there is no dispute over the Chief Minister position and that he is content to remain as Deputy Chief Minister. He remarked that reports of internal disagreements or meetings with the Congress high command are merely media fabrications. When questioned about potential leadership changes or a rotation system for the Chief Minister role, he stated, 'I am not meeting anyone from the AICC high command. I am happy to continue as Deputy Chief Minister. I prefer to be a party worker.' Responding to repeated media inquiries, Shivakumar stressed that no speculations should be made regarding any names, and decisions related to leadership are solely the prerogative of the Congress party. He concluded by saying that the party can make decisions at any time, and whatever leadership decides will be accepted.'
