Political Rivals Spotted Together on Flight, Sparking Speculation
Unexpected Encounter in the Skies
In a surprising turn of events, Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his political rival, Uddhav Thackeray, the president of Shiv Sena (UBT), were seen on the same flight from Mumbai to Nagpur. This sighting has ignited speculation within political circles. Accompanying Thackeray were his son Aditya and party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, all traveling on an Indigo flight to Nagpur. A video clip circulating on social media shows the leaders from opposing parties seated in a single row, with one on each side of the aisle. News agencies have confirmed this occurrence. Nagpur is Fadnavis's hometown, while Thackeray's faction was heading there for a Shiv Sena rally. The Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders are on a three-day tour of Vidarbha and Marathwada, which includes visits to the constituencies of six rebel MPs who recently joined Eknath Shinde's faction.
When asked about the trip, Fadnavis humorously remarked that the meeting of the three leaders was the day's biggest news.
Political Reactions
BJP leader Ram Kadam downplayed the significance of this encounter, labeling it merely a coincidence. He stated that despite political differences, personal relationships among leaders exist. In an interview, Kadam expressed skepticism about Thackeray's motives, questioning whether he had ever traveled on a commercial flight like Indigo before, suggesting it was merely a publicity stunt. He emphasized that their meeting on the flight was coincidental and that exchanging greetings after disembarking is a natural occurrence. Kadam criticized Thackeray for appearing in public at a time when he has lost much of his political standing.
