Two former university classmates, Uday Bhanu Chib and Shrey Awasthi, are now on opposing political sides, engaging in a heated debate regarding the issues faced by the youth of Himachal Pradesh. As the Indian Youth Congress, led by Chib, prepares for the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' event in Dharamshala, Awasthi, who serves as the BJP Himachal Pradesh Social Media Co-Convenor, has voiced critical concerns about employment opportunities and the commitments made to the state's youth.

Awasthi emphasized that while the Congress is hosting a program to hear from students, it is equally important for the government to address the worries of unemployed youth who are preparing for competitive exams and awaiting job openings.

He challenged the government on the employment promises made during the 2022 Assembly elections, which included a pledge for five lakh jobs and the announcement of one lakh government positions in the first Cabinet meeting.

“While it is essential to listen to students, the voices of Himachal’s unemployed youth must also be acknowledged by the government. Before engaging with students, Congress should respond to the pressing questions regarding jobs, recruitment, and unfilled positions,” Awasthi stated.

He further questioned the timeline for filling vacant roles in various departments, boards, and corporations, including technical positions such as Junior Engineer (JE) and Assistant Engineer (AE), inquiring when recruitment advertisements and examinations would be conducted.

Awasthi asserted that the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' initiative would only hold significance if it also tackled the issues faced by unemployed youth. “The youth of Himachal desire more than just speeches and events—they seek recruitment notifications, exam schedules, and appointment letters. The true essence of 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' lies in demanding clarity on employment,” he remarked. He urged Congress to address the concerns raised by the youth, particularly regarding job availability, government recruitment, and the fulfillment of election promises.
