After multiple failed attempts to prove his support, tensions have escalated with accusations flying between rival factions. The controversy centers around the sole AMMK MLA, S. As the numbers dwindle and claims of support are disputed, the uncertainty surrounding the formation of the government continues to grow, leaving the political landscape in suspense.

Political Tensions Rise in Tamil Nadu

The political landscape in Tamil Nadu resembles the climax of a suspense thriller. The drama intensified on Friday night when Vijay, leader of the TVK party, once again failed to demonstrate a majority. This marked the third consecutive occasion he returned empty-handed after meeting with Governor Rajendra Arlekar. The focus of the controversy was on S. Kamaraj, the sole MLA from AMMK, leading to a fierce rivalry between TVK and TTV Dhinakaran.

Claims and Counterclaims Emerge

TVK faced a setback as conflicting claims regarding the support of AMMK's Kamaraj surfaced. This dispute has sparked political accusations, complaints to the Governor, and even police reports, with both TVK and AMMK accusing each other of spreading misinformation.

The Numbers Game Gets Complicated

TVK has secured 108 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly, along with the backing of five Congress MLAs. However, to reach the majority mark of 118, they require support from six additional legislators, especially since one of the two seats won by Vijay will soon be vacant.

Attempts to Garner Support Fall Short

Sources indicate that Vijay reached out to MLAs from VCK, AMMK, and IUML to gather support for TVK. Unfortunately, they were unable to secure the necessary numbers during their meeting with the Governor; currently, the party stands at 116 MLAs, just two short of the majority. Following the withdrawal of support from the AMMK MLA, this number has now dropped to 115.

TVK's Claims of Support from Kamaraj Disputed

Vijay met with the Governor again, asserting that TVK possessed a signed letter of support from Kamaraj. This claim stirred political circles, with TVK alleging that Kamaraj had formally backed their party.

Dhinakaran's Counterclaims and Allegations

Shortly after, TTV Dhinakaran visited the Governor, claiming that their MLA was missing and presenting a letter indicating Kamaraj's support for AIADMK instead. He accused TVK of attempting to poach their MLA.

Kamaraj Denies Support for TVK

Soon after, Kamaraj was seen with Dhinakaran at the Governor's office, where he reportedly informed the Governor that he had not issued any letter supporting TVK, labeling the circulating document as fake. Dhinakaran subsequently filed a complaint with the Gindi police station, requesting an investigation.

TVK Releases Video Claiming Kamaraj's Support

Hours later, a separate social media handle associated with TVK released a video purportedly showing Kamaraj discussing his support for the party while seated in a car. However, Dhinakaran dismissed the video as fraudulent, asserting that an investigation is ongoing.

Political Uncertainty Continues

These developments have introduced new uncertainty and drama into Tamil Nadu's political scene, with Vijay remaining just out of reach of the Chief Minister's position for the third time. The swearing-in ceremony has been delayed, leaving the formation of the government shrouded in suspense.
