During a party executive meeting on Tuesday, both the BJP and BRS criticized his comments, accusing him of hurting Hindu sentiments.

Details of Revanth Reddy's Statement

While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister made light-hearted remarks about the diversity of Hindu worship. His comments, which went viral after internal clips surfaced, included, “How many gods are there in Hinduism? Three crore? Why? For the unmarried, there is Lord Hanuman. For those who have been married twice, there is another god. For drinkers, there is yet another god. For those who ask for chicken, there is a god, and for those who eat lentils and rice, there is another god. There are all kinds of deities.”

Opposition's Immediate Response

Opposition parties quickly condemned his remarks, describing them as mockery of the core beliefs and customs of Hinduism. The Telangana unit of the BJP criticized Reddy, stating, "Revanth Reddy has once again crossed all boundaries of decency by spewing venom against Hindu deities and exposing the Congress party’s inherent Hinduphobic DNA. From a public platform, he shamelessly mocked Hindu faith."

Central Minister's Strong Condemnation

Central Minister and former Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar issued a strong statement on social media, accusing Congress of harboring animosity towards Hindus. He condemned Reddy's comments as disrespectful to Hindus and their deities, asserting that Congress has always bowed to AIMIM. He further stated, "This is why we warned during the Jubilee Hills by-election that if Congress or BRS accidentally won, Hindus would lose their dignity."

Calls for Unity Among Hindus

Bandi Sanjay urged Hindus to unite, saying, "The hatred Congress has towards Hindus and Hindu deities has now come to light. It is time for the Hindu community to seriously consider whether they will remain divided and endure humiliation or come together to show their strength." Following this, BJP state president G. Ramchandra Rao demanded an unconditional apology from the Chief Minister and announced protests across the state, anticipating a rise in demonstrations in Telangana in the coming days.

BRS's Reaction to the Controversy

The BRS also criticized Reddy's comments, with several leaders urging him to retract his statement and apologize for hurting the sentiments of millions of Hindus in the state.

Central Minister Kishan Reddy's Remarks

Central Minister G. Kishan Reddy, along with Bandi Sanjay Kumar and other BJP leaders, condemned the Chief Minister's alleged anti-Hindu remarks on Tuesday, calling for Hindu unity in the state. The BJP's state president N. Ramchandra Rao announced plans for protests across Telangana on December 3 against Reddy's comments.

Conclusion

Kishan Reddy stated that during the recent Jubilee Hills by-election campaign, Reddy had claimed, "Congress means Muslims, and Muslims mean Congress." He emphasized that it is time for Hindus in Telangana to unite and demonstrate their strength against Reddy and the Congress party.
