In a significant operation against the illicit drug trade, the CIA unit of the Nurpur Police successfully confiscated 10.96 grams of heroin during a raid on August 5, 2026. Acting on credible intelligence, law enforcement officials conducted a search at the home of Tapeshwar Singh, also known as Sonu, located in the village of Chakk Nanglia, under the jurisdiction of Post Office Kandrori, Tehsil Indora. The illegal substance was discovered concealed within a television speaker in one of the rooms.

Following this seizure, a case (FIR No. 130/2026) was filed at the Damtal Police Station, invoking Sections 21, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act. The suspect, Tapeshwar Singh alias Sonu, the son of the late Madan Singh and a resident of Chakk Nanglia, has been taken into custody. Investigations are currently ongoing to uncover the origins of the narcotics and to identify any additional individuals who may be connected to this illegal operation.
