In a notable achievement in the fight against drug trafficking, the CIA unit of Police District Nurpur successfully confiscated 114.2 grams of charas and apprehended two suspects during an anti-narcotics operation.
While conducting patrols in the Kandwal, Bhadroya, Damtal, and Channi regions, law enforcement received intelligence about two individuals near the Excise Barrier on NH-44 at Bhadroya, allegedly in possession of a significant amount of charas intended for sale.
Responding promptly, the police team, along with independent witnesses, executed a raid at the location and detained the two suspects. Upon interrogation, they revealed their identities as Baldev (44) and Jeet (40), both hailing from the village of Makan, Post Office Sanwal, Tehsil Churah, District Chamba.
A search of their bag uncovered a polythene packet containing 114.2 grams of charas. The illegal substance was duly seized and sealed following legal protocols.
A case has been filed against the suspects under Sections 20 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Damtal, with further investigations currently in progress.
The Police District Nurpur has urged the community to assist in the ongoing anti-drug campaign and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately.
