Police Seize Cannabis in Himachal Pradesh: Arrest Made
Police Operation Leads to Drug Arrest
On the evening of June 18, 2026, law enforcement officials from the Bani Khet outpost established a checkpoint at Zero Point, Goli, around 10:30 PM. During this operation, they stopped a vehicle identified as HP01Cā2178 and discovered 246 grams of charas, also known as cannabis.
The driver, identified as Hussain Muhammad, aged 29, and son of Jan Muhammad, hails from Village Sar, located in the Dehgrahan post office area of Tehsil Churah, District Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. He was taken into custody immediately.
Authorities have filed charges against him under Sections 20 and 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The Chamba court has since placed the accused in police custody, and Investigating Officer Arun Kumar from the Bani Khet Police Post is overseeing the ongoing investigation.
