Police Operation Targets Illegal Mining Activities

In a bid to enforce its strict 'Zero Tolerance' policy against unlawful mining, the Nurpur Police District executed a late-night operation across the Kandwal, Indora, and Mand regions. The Superintendent of Police, along with teams from both Indora and Nurpur police stations, oversaw the raids and took decisive legal action against those breaching mining regulations.
Details of the Enforcement Actions
Indora Police Station: Under the direct oversight of the Superintendent of Police, authorities seized 17 heavy multi-axle trucks involved in illegal mining activities in Indora and nearby border areas. Additionally, one tractor was fined on-site for breaching mining laws.
Nurpur Police Station: During proactive naka checks, the Nurpur police team also confiscated two heavy trucks.
Legal Actions Initiated
In total, 19 heavy multi-axle trucks have been confiscated and will be presented in court for legal proceedings under the applicable sections of the Mining Act and the Motor Vehicles Act. One tractor received an immediate fine at the location.
The Superintendent of Police has mandated ongoing patrols and surprise inspections to combat illegal extraction of natural resources. The police have reiterated their commitment to a stringent approach against illegal mining, ensuring strict legal repercussions for offenders.
