Arrest of Proclaimed Offender in Nurpur


Sudhanshu Sharma from Nurpur reports that the Police District Nurpur has successfully apprehended a proclaimed offender named Pawan Kumar, aged 29, who resides in Kandwal, Tehsil Nurpur, District Kangra. This arrest is part of a broader initiative targeting individuals who have been declared fugitives.


Pawan Kumar was officially labeled a Proclaimed Offender by the Hon’ble JMFC Indora on April 9, 2024, due to his involvement in a case linked to FIR No. 175/2020, which was filed on November 13, 2020. The charges against him fall under Sections 454 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code at the Damtal Police Station.


On August 7, 2026, Kumar appeared before the Hon’ble JMFC Indora, where he was subsequently remanded to judicial custody and placed in Sub-Jail Nurpur, following the court's directives.
