In a decisive action against drug trafficking, the CIA unit of Nurpur Police detained a young man found in possession of 16.02 grams of heroin in the Chhatroli region.
On August 11, 2026, during a patrol aimed at combating the illegal drug trade, authorities received information regarding Ajay Kumar, the son of Raj Kumar, who resides in Harial, District Pathankot (Punjab). He was reportedly near St. Xavier Cambridge School in Chhatroli Khad, carrying heroin intended for distribution in Chhatroli and Jasur.
Responding promptly, the police team, along with independent witnesses, stopped the suspect riding his motorcycle (PB08CC-4706 Splendor Plus). They discovered a clear plastic packet hidden within the dashboard, which tested positive for heroin. The total weight of the confiscated substance was 16.02 grams. Both the drugs and the motorcycle were seized by the police.
A case has been filed at the Nurpur Police Station under FIR No. 203/2026 dated 11.08.2026, citing violations of Sections 21 and 25 of the NDPS Act, 1985. The accused, Ajay Kumar (28), has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
