Police Operation Leads to Arrest of Wanted Criminal
A notorious criminal who had been evading law enforcement for an extended period was finally apprehended by the police. This individual had multiple criminal cases against him, making it challenging for the authorities to track him down. Here’s how the police executed a secret operation to capture the fugitive.
Intense Shootout in Fatehpur
In a dramatic encounter late at night in Fatehpur district, police clashed with a wanted criminal who had a bounty of ₹1 lakh on his head. The operation took place near the Sasu Khaderi River in the Khaga police station area, where the police successfully cornered Bablu Singh, a long-time fugitive. During the exchange of fire, the criminal sustained gunshot wounds to both legs and fell to the ground. The police team on-site quickly arrested him and rushed him to the hospital.
Bounty on the Criminal
The arrested individual, Bablu Singh, son of Dharmraj alias Manna Singh, hails from Gadhi town in the Khaga police jurisdiction. He was wanted in serious criminal cases and had been on the run for a significant time. His criminal record includes charges related to gang wars, threats, and violations of the IT Act.
Injured During the Encounter
This significant operation was carried out by a joint team from the Khaga, Hathgaon, and Thariyawan police stations, along with the Special Operations Group (SOG). The police received a tip-off about the wanted criminal hiding in the forest area. Upon arriving at the scene, the criminal opened fire on the police, prompting them to retaliate. During the shootout, he was hit in both legs and subsequently injured.
Weapons and Cash Recovered
Authorities recovered an illegal 315 bore pistol, four spent cartridges, one live cartridge lodged in the barrel, and ₹1600 in cash from the criminal's possession. According to police officials, Bablu Singh was wanted in case number 115/26 registered at the Khaga police station, and a reward of ₹1 lakh had been announced by the Additional Director General of Police for his capture.

Initial investigations confirmed that there are four criminal cases registered against him at the Khaga police station, and further inquiries into his criminal history are ongoing. Following the encounter, a heavy police presence was established in the area. Police officials hailed this operation as a significant success, asserting that their campaign against criminals in the district will continue relentlessly, ensuring that no offenders are spared.
