Arrest of Rakesh Raut in Chain Snatching Incidents

In a shocking development from Bhubaneswar, the police have apprehended Rakesh Raut, who had evaded criminal activities for a decade while running 15 shops. However, due to financial difficulties, he returned to crime, and his wife was also found to be involved in the incidents.

The couple, who returned to their old ways after a decade, has been arrested by the police.


Crime News: A startling case has emerged from Bhubaneswar, Odisha's capital. The Cuttack-Bhubaneswar police have arrested an individual who had distanced himself from crime for ten years. During this period, he established 15 shops. However, circumstances led him back to his former criminal activities, with his wife equally involved. Following the revelations from the accused, the police also arrested his wife.


According to Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datt Singh, the suspect has been identified as Rakesh Raut. He was arrested by the Chandra Sekharpur police, where he has around six cases registered against him. Additionally, there are several other criminal cases against him in different police jurisdictions. After his arrest, the police recovered eight gold chains from his possession, three of which have been identified by the victims. The police are now working to identify other victims as they continue their investigation into the remaining cases.

Police Searching for Rakesh's Accomplices

Following the arrests of Rakesh Raut and his wife, Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datt Singh indicated that the mystery behind chain snatching incidents in Chandra Sekharpur and surrounding areas has been unraveled. The police are currently working to identify the entire network associated with Rakesh Raut and are investigating who else might be involved in this gang.
