Authorities in Nurpur district have achieved a notable advancement in the Bhadroya heroin trafficking investigation, apprehending a fourth suspect through a forward linkage inquiry. This case originated on May 15, 2026, when law enforcement seized 41.40 grams of heroin from a mother-son pair in Bhadroya, documented under FIR No. 93/2026 at the Damtal Police Station.


Details of the Arrest: The individual taken into custody, Saurabh Raina (27), son of the late Janak Raj Raina and a resident of Ward No. 7, Mohalla Niyazpur, was arrested on June 9, 2026, close to the court complex in Nurpur Bazaar. Legal action is being pursued under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.


Background of the Case: On May 15, a CIA team discovered 41.40 grams of heroin concealed beneath a sewing machine in a home in Bhadroya, leading to the immediate arrest of Vanita Devi and her son Aman. As the investigation progressed, police uncovered the source of the narcotics, resulting in the arrest of Manmohan Singh alias Biru. Following this, authorities have now apprehended Saurabh Raina, identified as a buyer within the trafficking network.


Future Actions: The suspect is set to be presented in court, where police will request remand to identify additional buyers and connections within the trafficking network. The Nurpur police have reiterated their commitment to taking stringent measures against both backward and forward linkages to effectively dismantle the narcotics syndicate.
