Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a three-day visit to Gujarat from January 10 to 12, 2026. The Prime Minister will participate in various significant events across Somnath, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar.

Highlights of the Visit

Religious and Cultural Events — The visit will feature the 'Somnath Swabhimaan Parv' at the Somnath Temple, marking its 75th anniversary.


Economic Development — The 'Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference' in Rajkot will focus on the Kutch and Saurashtra regions.


Infrastructure — A segment of the Ahmedabad Metro Phase-2 will be inaugurated.


Diplomatic Engagements — The Prime Minister will meet with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, visit the Sabarmati Ashram, and attend the International Kite Festival.


Detailed Itinerary (January 10-12, 2026)

January 10 (Somnath): The Prime Minister will arrive in the evening and chair a meeting of the Somnath Temple Trust. He will participate in the chanting of the Omkar Mantra around 8 PM and witness a drone show in the temple complex.

January 11 (Somnath → Rajkot → Ahmedabad):



  • At approximately 9:45 AM, he will join the 'Shaurya Yatra', honoring the warriors who sacrificed their lives for Somnath, featuring a symbolic procession of 108 horses.


  • At around 10:15 AM, he will visit the temple for prayers.


  • By 11 AM, he will attend the public event for the 'Somnath Swabhimaan Parv'.


  • Later in Rajkot:



    • At about 1:30 PM, he will inaugurate a trade show and exhibition.


    • At 2 PM, he will open the 'Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference' at Marwadi University, addressing investment opportunities for 12 districts in Kutch-Saurashtra, focusing on sectors like ceramics, engineering, ports, and green energy, with partner countries including Japan, South Korea, Rwanda, and Ukraine.



  • By 5:15 PM, he will inaugurate the Ahmedabad Metro Phase-2 at the Mahatma Mandir Metro Station, connecting Sector 10A to Mahatma Mandir.



January 12 (Ahmedabad → Gandhinagar):



  • At around 9:30 AM, he will visit the Sabarmati Ashram with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.


  • At 10 AM, he will participate in the International Kite Festival at the Sabarmati Riverfront.


  • At 11:15 AM, he will engage in bilateral talks at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, reviewing the 25-year completion of the India-Germany strategic partnership, focusing on trade, investment, technology, defense, and green development.
