Day Two of PM Modi's Visit to Varanasi
Today marks the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Varanasi. This morning, he conducted an impressive road show in his parliamentary constituency, drawing a massive crowd eager to catch a glimpse of him. BJP workers were seen dancing to the beats of drums, celebrating the occasion. The streets were adorned with flowers as people welcomed the Prime Minister, who reciprocated with waves and greetings.
Route of the Road Show
The road show commenced at the Banaras Locomotive Works and traversed through various locations including Lahartara, Kachahri, Ambedkar Chauraha, Chowkaghat, Teliyabag, Lahurabir, and Maidagin, concluding at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
Spiritual Offerings at Kashi Vishwanath Temple
During his visit, PM Modi offered prayers at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Participating in traditional rituals, he spent approximately 20 minutes in the sanctum sanctorum, guided by five priests who performed the rituals, adorned him with a garland, and applied the sacred tripundra on his forehead.
Gifts from Local Representatives
After the prayers, local representatives welcomed the Prime Minister with gifts including a trident, damru, and a traditional stole. PM Modi graciously accepted these offerings and greeted the attendees. As he exited the temple premises, devotees chanted 'Har Har Mahadev,' to which he responded with waves and folded hands. He also took time to interact with children present at the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.

PM Modi shared images from the temple on his social media, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to visit and pray at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. He conveyed his wishes for prosperity and health for all citizens, stating, 'Har Har Mahadev! I received immense peace from the blessings of Maa Annapurna and Maa Ganga. May everyone be filled with positive energy!'
A Thriving Crowd to Witness the PM
The Prime Minister also engaged with children at the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. According to BJP media in-charge Arvind Mishra, the residents of Varanasi were eager to catch a glimpse of the PM, with numerous party workers, officials, and locals lining the route. Designated spots were set up along the way for welcoming the Prime Minister, where party workers and locals showered him with flowers and played drums and conch shells. This approximately 14-kilometer road show is being hailed by party leaders as one of the largest in the city's history.
