As the campaigning for the second and final phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections comes to a close, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released a heartfelt open letter to the people of the state. Shared on Monday, April 27, this letter not only expresses his spiritual connection with Bengal but also invites citizens to celebrate the anticipated victory of the BJP at the upcoming oath-taking ceremony. Modi emphasized that his experiences during the election campaign transcended mere political events.

Connecting with Every Family in Bengal

Addressing the "brothers and sisters of West Bengal," PM Modi described elections as a sacred festival of democracy, expressing his gratitude for being part of it. Reflecting on his extensive campaign, he noted the opportunity to present the BJP's development roadmap to the people. In an audio message and open letter released on the last day of campaigning, he stated, "Through this letter, I am sharing my feelings with every family in Bengal."

A Unique Energy During Campaigns

Modi mentioned feeling a unique energy throughout the campaign, stating that despite the intense heat and numerous rallies, he never felt fatigued. He wrote, "These rallies and roadshows felt like a pilgrimage to me. Whenever I was among the devotees of Maa Kali, it felt as if she was continuously infusing me with new energy."

Spiritual Experiences Compared to Ayodhya

Drawing a parallel to the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, for which he undertook an 11-day ritual and fast, Modi expressed that he experienced a similar spiritual sensation during the Bengal campaign.

Heartfelt Messages and Photos from the Public

The Prime Minister highlighted the emotional connection he felt with the people, sharing that he received countless messages, letters, and photos during the rallies and roadshows, which he continues to read and respond to. He referred to the affection he received from youth, women, the elderly, and families as his "greatest treasure." Modi remarked, "During all the rallies and roadshows in Bengal, I received so many touching messages and photos that I will never forget. Whenever I get the chance, I look at those pictures at night... reading your loving messages and letters, and responding to them. The affection I witnessed across all age groups is my greatest asset."

Desire for Change in Bengal

Understanding the sentiments of the public, PM Modi noted that the youth, women, farmers, and laborers of Bengal are eager for development and opportunities. He stated, "During this election, I observed that the youth, women, farmers, and laborers of Bengal are desperate for a developed state. The youth seek open opportunities for advancement, while daughters desire safety and freedom. Every citizen and family in Bengal is united with the resolve that the time for change has come."

A Call for Trust in BJP

He further expressed, "There has been a climate of fear; now people want trust, and they want the BJP, which was the message of our campaign. Reiterating his commitment, PM Modi stated that serving and safeguarding Bengal is his responsibility, and he is determined to turn challenges into opportunities. He expressed confidence that the people would come together to celebrate the BJP government’s oath-taking ceremony in the state. "Together, we will build a developed Bengal," he concluded.
