Modi Advocates for Tamil Language and Culture
Rameswaram: During a recent address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that he often receives correspondence from leaders in Tamil Nadu who fail to sign their letters in Tamil. He urged, "At least put your signature in Tamil," emphasizing the importance of language identity.
While inaugurating various development initiatives valued at over ₹8,300 crore, Modi advocated for the introduction of medical education in Tamil, asserting that it would greatly benefit students from underprivileged backgrounds.
The Prime Minister pointed out that despite Tamil Nadu receiving substantial funding through central schemes, there are still complaints regarding financial allocations. He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the Tamil language and enhancing its global presence.
On the occasion of Ram Navami, Modi remarked that the governance model exemplified by Lord Ram should guide the nation’s development efforts.
Additionally, he inaugurated the new Pamban Bridge, which is recognized as India’s first vertical-lift railway sea bridge.
Modi concluded by stating that initiatives are in progress to promote Tamil language and heritage worldwide.
