PM Modi to Address Rally Near India-Pakistan Border Following Operation Sindoor Success
Upcoming Rally by PM Modi
Following the success of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address his first rally. This event will take place near the India-Pakistan border. On May 7, India conducted strikes on terrorist launch pads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), and subsequently, on May 22, PM Modi will visit the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, Bikaner district, Rajasthan, to offer prayers and speak at a public gathering. This marks his first visit to the India-Pak border and his second visit to an Air Force base after Adampur in Punjab.
Significance of Bikaner Airport
Bikaner's Nal Airport, which also serves as an Indian Air Force station, was targeted during the recent conflict but fortunately sustained no damage. The Bikaner district shares a 168 km long border with Pakistan, while Deshnok is located approximately 200 km from the international boundary. Sources indicate that after Operation Sindoor, PM Modi may meet with soldiers stationed at the international border as a symbol of unity. Central Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and BJP's Rajasthan state president Madan Rathore have arrived in Bikaner today to oversee the event preparations.
Key Attendees at the Rally
According to BJP spokesperson Lakshmikant Bhardwaj, PM Modi will be accompanied by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and Arjun Meghwal during the rally.
Future Meetings and Political Discussions
Additionally, on May 25, PM Modi will chair a meeting with Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states to discuss Operation Sindoor and the resulting political landscape. Top NDA leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, are expected to attend, along with Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.
Political Implications of Operation Sindoor
The BJP is framing Operation Sindoor as a victory for the armed forces. In a recent cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister advised his ministers to refrain from political rhetoric and avoid any controversies surrounding the issue. A senior BJP leader noted that in his address to the nation, the Prime Minister emphasized national unity and the involvement of all political parties, indicating that the BJP does not wish to politicize this military action. The party aims to clarify to its allies that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was achieved through bilateral agreement.
BJP's Strategic Messaging
Moreover, the BJP is conveying to its grassroots workers that the objective of Operation Sindoor was solely to target terrorists in Pakistan and PoK, rather than attacking any other nation's military. There is also a sentiment within the party that India should enhance its economic strength and emerge as an alternative to China on the global stage, especially amid current trade tensions. The party believes that limited and targeted military actions are more appropriate than prolonged warfare, a message they wish to communicate to their supporters.
