Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address three significant rallies in West Bengal, aiming to enhance support for the BJP in this crucial electoral battleground. His campaign will focus on pressing issues such as infiltration, corruption, and women's safety, while presenting a 'six-point guarantee' to the people as an alternative to the current government's policies. This visit underscores the BJP's commitment to strengthening its presence in the state, where it seeks to challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress. Modi's previous rallies have already highlighted the party's stance on industrial decline and lawlessness, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle.

Modi's Campaign in West Bengal

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold three rallies in the election-bound state of West Bengal. The locations include Katwa in the Purba Bardhaman district, Jangipur in the Muslim-majority Murshidabad district, and Kushmandi in South Dinajpur. These events aim to bolster support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in central and northern Bengal, where the party is working to expand its influence and pose a significant challenge to the ruling Trinamool Congress.

This visit marks Modi's third trip to the state since the Election Commission announced the election schedule in mid-March, highlighting the BJP leadership's emphasis on West Bengal as a key electoral battleground. On Thursday, Modi addressed rallies in Haldia, Asansol, and Suri, where he focused on issues such as 'industrial decline' and the 'infiltration problem' to energize the BJP's campaign.

During these gatherings, the Prime Minister introduced a 'six-point guarantee' for the people of West Bengal, presenting it as an alternative to the 'sins' of the Mamata Banerjee-led government. Modi commenced his election campaign on April 5 from Cooch Behar in North Bengal, where he made the encirclement of judicial officials involved in the Special Intensive Review (SIR) process a focal point of his criticism against the Trinamool, accusing the ruling party of fostering 'lawlessness' in the state. The BJP is attempting to steer the electoral discourse towards issues like infiltration, corruption, women's safety, and governance, while also targeting the Trinamool over unemployment and the state's 'industrial decline.'
