Modi's Rally in West Bengal

During a spirited rally on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured attendees that if the BJP secures victory in West Bengal, the party will prioritize fish exports and provide special assistance to fishermen. Speaking at a public gathering in Mathurapur, South 24 Parganas, he urged the audience to "oust the current TMC government," claiming that a strong wave of change is sweeping across the state. Targeting the ruling TMC, Modi accused the party of acting against women's interests. He referenced the Women's Reservation Bill, stating that although the BJP introduced it in Parliament, the TMC opposed it, effectively "stripping women of their rights." He emphasized that the women of the state would not forget how this bill was resisted.

Allegations of Corruption and Hindrance to Central Schemes

Modi further alleged that the state government not only obstructs central welfare schemes but also misuses funds intended for public benefit. He remarked that corruption in Bengal has reached such depths that "no work can be done without bribery." According to him, the people have repeatedly placed their trust in the TMC, only to be met with unfulfilled promises and disappointment.

Accountability After May 4

The Prime Minister assured that after the assembly election results are announced on May 4, action will be taken against those who have engaged in wrongdoing. Referring to the ongoing voting process, he noted the enthusiasm among women and young voters during the first phase, which has captured national attention. He added that increased voter turnout indicates a reduction in fear and a solid victory for trust. Modi expressed confidence that when the votes are counted in ten days, "the lotus will bloom everywhere."
