PM Modi Launches ₹33,500 Crore Metro Expansion in Delhi Amidst Political Criticism
Major Metro Expansion for Delhi
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a significant investment of ₹33,500 crore for the development of Delhi. He inaugurated new sections of the Pink and Magenta lines of the Delhi Metro and laid the foundation for three additional corridors. This expansion is set to enhance travel for millions residing in areas such as Burari, Yamuna Vihar, Khajuri Khas, and Wazirabad, greatly improving metro connectivity.
Sharp Criticism of Bengal Government
With the launch of the metro projects, the Prime Minister also addressed the issue of protocol negligence during President Droupadi Murmu's visit to West Bengal. He directly criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, stating that the events surrounding International Women's Day were a severe insult to the nation's President. Modi emphasized that the TMC has disrespected not only the President but also the dignity of the entire tribal community.
Outrage Over President's Disrespect
Modi expressed his discontent regarding President Murmu's participation in a sacred Santhal tribal festival in Bengal, which the state government chose to boycott. He asserted, 'The people of West Bengal and the tribal community across the nation will never forgive the TMC for this insult. It is unfortunate to treat a woman in the highest office of the country in such a manner.'
Honoring Women's Empowerment and Tribal Pride
In his address, the Prime Minister remarked that the position of the President transcends politics and must maintain its sanctity. He clearly stated that the nation's women and tribal communities are deeply disappointed by this incident. According to him, the Bengal government's negligence towards a significant Santhal cultural event is contrary to the democratic values of the country.
