PM Modi Launches Nationwide Campaign for a Drug-Free India

Introduction to the Campaign

On August 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate the "Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan," aimed at motivating the youth to play an active role in creating a drug-free India.

A Nationwide Jan Bhagidari Movement

In response to PM Modi's appeal, this initiative will kick off as a nationwide Jan Bhagidari movement, spearheaded by MY Bharat youth. The goal is to unite young individuals across the nation in a collective effort against substance abuse. Inspired by the Prime Minister's address, activities will take place at nearly 10,000 locations simultaneously, with over 10 million youth participating in this national pledge.

Community Involvement

The campaign will see active involvement from MY Bharat Volunteers, National Service Scheme (NSS), youth clubs, educational institutions, NGOs, industrial associations, and more than 125 spiritual organizations. This collaboration aims to create a truly grassroots national movement, as stated in a press release from the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

A 100-Week Sustained Campaign

Under PM Modi's guidance, over 10 million youth will take the Nasha Mukti Pledge, committing to serve as Nasha Mukta Yuva Volunteers. Those who make significant contributions to the campaign will be recognized at the 50th, 75th, and 100th-week milestones.

Importantly, this initiative is not just a one-day event; it is a sustained 100-week Jan Bhagidari movement inspired by PM Modi's vision. Throughout this period, various activities such as sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programs, art competitions, street plays, and community engagement activities will be organized every Sunday nationwide. These efforts aim to channel the positive energy of youth towards nation-building and steer them away from the social issue of substance abuse.

This campaign aligns with PM Modi's vision of a "Nasha Mukt Bharat" and aims to bolster the national commitment towards Viksit Bharat 2047. The Prime Minister emphasizes that "Drug-free Youth are the greatest strength of Viksit Bharat," and this message will resonate with every young citizen across the country.
