On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new terminal building at the popular Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. He emphasized that just as the Brahmaputra River flows continuously in Assam, the development under the leadership of the BJP's dual-engine government is also progressing without interruption. He remarked, "You might be surprised to learn that before 2014, there was a law in our country that prohibited the cutting of bamboo as it was considered a tree. However, the world recognizes bamboo as a plant. We have amended that law, categorizing bamboo as grass and giving it the respect it deserves."
