He shared his deep connection to Assam's soil, the love and affection of its people, especially the mothers and sisters of Assam and the Northeast, which continually inspires him and strengthens their commitment to the region's development. A new chapter in Assam's growth is being written today.

Cultural Significance of the Airport

The Prime Minister noted that stepping into the new airport terminal makes the true meaning of development and heritage clear. He mentioned that the airport was designed with Assam's nature and culture in mind, ensuring that every traveler experiences peace and tranquility upon arrival. He reiterated that once again, a new chapter in Assam's development is unfolding, paralleling the continuous flow of the Brahmaputra River under the BJP's governance.

Promoting Bamboo Industry

PM Modi also highlighted the government's efforts to promote bamboo. He remarked, "You might be surprised to learn that before 2014, there was a law in our country that prohibited the cutting of bamboo as it was considered a tree. However, the world recognizes bamboo as a plant. We have amended that law, categorizing bamboo as grass and giving it the respect it deserves."
