PM Modi Highlights Northeast India's Diversity at Investors Summit 2025

At the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the region's rich diversity and its potential for investment. He emphasized the significant changes in the Northeast over the past decade, celebrating its cultural and economic strengths. Modi's vision includes fostering peace and development, particularly for the youth, who are now finding new opportunities in their homeland. This summit marks a pivotal moment for the Northeast as it aims to attract investment and leadership, reinforcing its role as a vital part of India's growth story.
 

Northeast India: A Hub of Diversity and Opportunity

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025 in Delhi, emphasizing that Northeast India represents the most diverse region of the country. He noted significant transformations in the area over the past 11 years. During the summit, he remarked that India is recognized globally for its diversity, with the Northeast being the epitome of this characteristic. The region's variety, spanning trade, traditions, textiles, and tourism, is its greatest asset.


 


Modi expressed pride and a sense of belonging as he spoke at the grand platform of the Rising Northeast. He highlighted the immense faith in the future, recalling the recent Ashtalakshmi festival celebrated at Bharat Mandapam. Today, the focus is on celebrating investment in the Northeast, with numerous industry leaders present, showcasing the enthusiasm and aspirations surrounding the region. He commended all ministries and state governments for creating a conducive environment for investment.


 


The Prime Minister reiterated that India is known as the world's most diverse nation, with the Northeast being its most varied segment. He referred to the region as Ashtalakshmi, symbolizing prosperity, and stated that every state in the Northeast is ready for investment and leadership. He emphasized the importance of developing Eastern India for the construction of a developed India, with the Northeast being a crucial part of this vision. For the government, 'EAST' signifies Empower, Act, Strength, and Transform.


 


Modi clearly stated that peace and law enforcement are essential for the development of any region. He addressed issues like terrorism and Maoist violence, affirming the government's zero-tolerance policy. He recalled a time when the Northeast was associated with violence, which adversely affected the youth, depriving them of numerous opportunities. The government is focused on the future of the youth in the Northeast, having signed multiple peace agreements to integrate them into the mainstream of development. Over the past decade, more than 10,000 youths have chosen the path of peace, leading to new employment opportunities in their own region.
