PM Modi Criticizes Congress for Irresponsible Comments on West Asia Crisis
Modi's Strong Remarks on Political Statements
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the Congress party and the Left Democratic Front (LDF) for making irresponsible and nonsensical remarks regarding the crisis in West Asia, which could jeopardize the safety of millions of Indians working in Gulf countries. Speaking at a public gathering in Tiruvalla, Pathanamthitta, he accused Congress of creating distrust with West Asian nations through hostile statements against India. Modi asserted that the party aims to instill fear among the public for political gain, endangering the lives of Indian expatriates while also hurling insults at them.
Concerns Over Indian Safety
The Prime Minister emphasized that Congress wishes for West Asian countries to view India as an adversary, suggesting that any misstep or statement from India could lead to trouble for Indians residing in the Gulf. He criticized Congress for making statements that could provoke anger in these nations. Modi highlighted that the party seeks to spread panic and create opportunities to blame him. He reassured the people of Kerala that their safety is his top priority, stating that elections are temporary, but the well-being of millions of residents is paramount.
Exposing Political Schemes
Modi further noted that the ongoing conflict in West Asia has revealed the 'schemes' of Congress and its allies, who are making statements that foster distrust among Indians in the region. He pointed out that the current war crisis has exposed the intentions of Congress and its coalition partners. The entire nation is witnessing the deteriorating situation in Gulf countries, where many Indians are employed, yet senior Congress leaders continue to make statements that threaten the safety of these expatriates and sow distrust among the local populace.
Strengthening Diplomatic Ties
He underscored the importance of India's strong diplomatic relations with Gulf nations as a foundation for the safety of Indian migrants during conflicts. Modi stated that due to these good relations, the governments in the Gulf consider all Indians as part of their family and are committed to their protection. He urged that now is not the time for such statements; the safety of these Indians must be prioritized, and he called for an end to meaningless remarks that could cause distress to them.
