On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated N. Rangasamy on his assumption of the role of Chief Minister of Puducherry. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with Rangasamy for the welfare and development of the Union Territory. In a post on social media, the Prime Minister praised Rangasamy's administrative experience and his contributions to the developmental journey of Puducherry. Modi stated, 'Congratulations to Shri N. Rangasamy on taking charge as the Chief Minister of Puducherry. With his extensive experience, he has made a significant impact as an able administrator, strengthening Puducherry's development journey. Rangasamy Takes Oath Amidst NDA Victory
Earlier in the day, N. Rangasamy, the founder of the All India N R Congress (AINRC), took the oath of office as Chief Minister following the NDA's victory in the assembly elections. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Puducherry's Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan in the presence of BJP National President Nitin Nabin and other senior leaders. Immediately after assuming office, Rangasamy thanked the people of Puducherry for their support and stated that the newly formed NDA government would work towards implementing welfare schemes more effectively.
Commitment to Public Welfare
Rangasamy emphasized to reporters that it is the government's duty to implement all necessary schemes more effectively for the welfare of the people. 'We will certainly fulfill this responsibility with utmost excellence,' he assured. He also shared his vision for the development of the Union Territory, stating, 'We are going to develop Puducherry like Singapore.' The oath-taking ceremony followed the announcement of the assembly election results on May 4, where the National Democratic Alliance retained power in the Union Territory.
