Final Day of PM Modi's Israel Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Israel reached its conclusion on Thursday, February 26. On this final day, a bilateral meeting took place between PM Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where they discussed several significant topics. The discussions led to multiple agreements between India and Israel, focusing on crucial areas such as education, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Following the meeting, both leaders addressed a joint press conference.


PM Modi Expresses Gratitude

During the joint press conference in Jerusalem, PM Modi expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Netanyahu for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation. Reflecting on his first visit to Israel nine years ago, he noted that returning after nearly a decade was a moment of pride for him. He also mentioned receiving the 'Knesset President's Medal' and dedicated this honor to the 1.4 billion people of India and the friendship between India and Israel.


Future Free Trade Agreement

In his address, PM Modi highlighted the unique relationship between India and Israel, announcing that a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) would soon be finalized. He emphasized the decision to establish significant and emerging technologies, including a recent agreement on the use of UPI in Israel.


Strengthening Defense Ties

PM Modi underscored that Israel serves as a crucial defense partner for India. He mentioned that following last year's defense agreements, both nations would collaborate on research, develop new technologies, and increase joint production of weapons.


Key Agreements on FTA, UPI, and Defense

During the bilateral meeting, several important agreements were reached regarding the FTA, UPI, and defense sectors, indicating significant benefits for India. PM Modi confirmed that the Free Trade Agreement would be completed soon, and UPI would now operate in Israel.
