PM Modi Campaigns Vigorously for BJP Ahead of West Bengal Elections
PM Modi's Final Rally in West Bengal
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an energetic campaign for the BJP in West Bengal, just before the second phase of voting. Speaking at a public gathering in Barrackpore, he referred to this event as his last electoral rally in the state and expressed confidence in the party's performance. Modi also indicated that he would return for the BJP's swearing-in ceremony, showcasing his optimism about the party forming the government. "This is my final rally in this election. I am leaving with the assurance that I will definitely attend the BJP's swearing-in ceremony after the results on May 4. This boosts my enthusiasm," he stated. He shared his experience of traveling from the helipad to the venue, noting the massive crowd that had gathered to bless him early in the morning.
Modi Criticizes TMC's Governance
During his address, PM Modi launched a strong critique against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), claiming that industrial activities in the state have dwindled under their governance, leading to factory closures. He asserted that the TMC government lacks a clear roadmap for the future development of West Bengal. Emphasizing the need for a "double-engine government," Modi argued that rapid development can only be achieved through collaboration between the state and central governments. He further accused the TMC of perpetuating a "syndicate system" that must be dismantled, and criticized the party for relying on intimidation and abusive politics instead of constructive governance.
Safety of Women in West Bengal
PM Modi urged female voters to consider the TMC's track record when casting their votes, alleging that the party has failed to earn their trust. He claimed that the TMC has rendered the state unsafe for women and has not respected the mandate given by the people. Modi called on voters to remember the alleged misdeeds and instances of intimidation associated with the TMC.
