PM Modi and President Murmu Celebrate Milestones in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu visited Odisha to celebrate her 68th birthday and highlight significant development initiatives. Their tour included traditional rituals and a focus on empowering tribal communities through education and skill development. Modi inaugurated various projects worth ₹47,000 crore, emphasizing the government's commitment to transforming Odisha's resources into opportunities. This visit not only marks the two-year anniversary of the state government but also showcases the strong leadership of President Murmu, who has become a symbol of pride for the region. The event was filled with celebrations, reflecting the vibrant culture and aspirations of the local communities.
 

Celebrating President Murmu's Birthday in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu are currently visiting Mayurbhanj district in Odisha to commemorate the President's 68th birthday. During their visit, both leaders participated in rituals at the sacred Santali Jahera and Ho Jahera sites, engaging in traditional nature worship practiced by local tribal communities. This visit is part of a broader initiative aimed at reaching out to tribal populations, highlighting efforts to empower them through education and skill development, including tours of a local skill development center and a school. Additionally, this trip marks the two-year anniversary of the state government.

Following this, PM Modi attended the 'Vikas Ra Dhara, Odisha Sara' event in Rayagada, celebrating the Odisha government's two-year milestone, alongside President Murmu and Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi. During the event, Modi inaugurated several development projects, expressing that Odisha is currently immersed in festive celebrations. He noted the recent grand observance of the Ganesh festival and the ongoing preparations for the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, emphasizing the excitement surrounding the Baripada Rath Yatra.


Modi remarked that the BJP government in Odisha has also completed two years, expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome he received in Mayurbhanj. He highlighted the government's efforts to present the Indian Constitution in the Santali language and honor the children of Odisha with Padma awards. Over the past two years, the Odisha government has been diligently working to fulfill the dreams of its great personalities.


He further stated that this occasion is particularly special as President Murmu, who grew up in Mayurbhanj, is present to celebrate her birthday. Modi extended heartfelt birthday wishes to her, wishing her longevity and good health. He expressed pride in having a daughter of Odisha in such a significant position, guiding the nation. He praised her character, generosity, and unwavering dedication to serving the nation and society, which has strengthened the identity of not just Mayurbhanj but all of Odisha.


Modi shared that he had the opportunity to visit the school established by President Murmu, spending memorable moments with the children. He observed the joy on their faces and felt a sense of familial warmth, noting that the children perceived her presence as that of a mother. He emphasized how this experience inspires the underprivileged and tribal children in the region, instilling confidence in them to achieve great things for the country. He expressed gratitude to the President for allowing him to share in these experiences, calling the day a learning experience for him.

The Prime Minister also announced the inauguration and foundation laying of several significant projects related to Odisha's development, with an investment of approximately ₹47,000 crore. These projects, focusing on electricity, roads, health, railways, and education, are expected to provide substantial benefits to the community. He stated that the government is transforming Odisha's resources into opportunities, promoting substantial investments and new industries through initiatives like 'Utkarsh Odisha,' which has already attracted investment proposals worth around ₹20 lakh crore, with over ₹3.5 lakh crore allocated for various mega projects.
