PM Modi Addresses Global Energy Challenges Amidst Political Tensions
Modi Highlights India's Foreign Policy Success
On March 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that India's robust foreign policy and the unwavering unity of its citizens have helped maintain stability despite global challenges related to energy supply. Speaking at an event in Vav-Tharad, Gujarat, after inaugurating several development projects, he criticized the Congress party for spreading fear and inciting the public at a time when unity is crucial. Modi pointed out that the ongoing situation in West Asia is impacting the entire world, leading to increased difficulties regarding energy needs, particularly diesel, petrol, and gas. Nevertheless, he asserted that India has managed to keep the situation under control, attributing this success to the country's effective foreign policy and the solidarity of its people.
Political Accusations Amidst Crisis
Modi accused the Congress party of attempting to escalate the conflict in West Asia for political gain. He stated that while the nation requires unity and solidarity, Congress leaders are engaged in divisive activities. He claimed that the party is busy spreading fear and rumors, actively inciting the public. Like political vultures, Congress is waiting for the crisis to worsen to exploit the situation for their benefit. Following his speech, Modi participated in a roadshow in Vav-Tharad, where hundreds gathered to show their support.
Opposition's Warning on Financial Crisis
Earlier that day, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, addressed a rally in Kozhikode, warning of a potential financial earthquake due to the escalating conflict in West Asia. He remarked that the public is well aware of the ongoing events in the Middle East and the tragedy unfolding there, expressing uncertainty about its outcome and the direct impact on the people of Kerala and India. He cautioned that fuel prices would rise, leading to increased inflation, and predicted an impending financial crisis.
Questioning Government Responses
Gandhi raised concerns regarding the efforts of both the NDA-led central government and the LDF-led Kerala government in addressing the looming crisis. He questioned what the LDF government is doing to ensure public safety, asserting that Modi is merely following the cues of Donald Trump. He challenged the Kerala government on what measures are being taken to ease the lives of its citizens.
