Goyal Responds to Rahul Gandhi's Criticism

In response to attacks from Rahul Gandhi against the BJP-led government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal asserted on Wednesday that the Gandhi family represents a completely compromise-driven political lineage, with the Congress party embodying a similar ethos. Speaking at a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Goyal also criticized decisions made by former Prime Ministers Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, and Jawaharlal Nehru.

During the Lok Sabha sessions, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Prime Minister of being compromise-oriented regarding the India-U.S. interim trade agreement. Goyal countered these allegations by accusing the Congress party of corruption, stating that Rahul Gandhi's very essence is synonymous with compromise. Amid ongoing tensions between the BJP and Congress, particularly highlighted by the shirtless protest from the Indian Youth Congress during the AI summit, Goyal claimed that Rahul Gandhi has become a symbol of negative politics.

He emphasized that the Gandhi family is fundamentally a compromise-driven political family. According to Goyal, both Rahul Gandhi and his party represent a political entity that thrives on compromise. He pointed to numerous instances in Congress's history and present, citing countless corruption cases and compromises made in the interest of foreign powers over national and public interests, illustrating how they have jeopardized the country's future and that of its citizens. Goyal reiterated that Rahul Gandhi has become emblematic of negative politics.

Furthermore, Goyal accused Rahul Gandhi of being a puppet of foreign powers, anti-India forces, and organizations that oppose India. He remarked that Gandhi has displayed a capricious attitude in politics, serving merely as a pawn for these entities. Goyal concluded by stating that the Gandhi family continues to engage in compromises, whether in Parliament, outside of it, or during press conferences, highlighting their questionable interactions with the media.
