PhonePe Introduces PG Bolt for Seamless Card Transactions
PhonePe Launches PG Bolt for Enhanced Payment Experience
New Delhi, Jan 10: PhonePe has unveiled its latest feature, ‘PhonePe PG Bolt’, designed specifically for transactions using Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards.
This innovative solution employs device tokenisation to ensure a secure and streamlined in-app checkout process for users of the PhonePe platform and its merchant partners.
With this feature, users can tokenise their Visa and Mastercard once within the PhonePe app, allowing them to utilize their saved cards across any merchant that integrates with PhonePe PG, eliminating the need to tokenise their card for each merchant individually.
By substituting sensitive card information with secure tokens, the system negates the need for CVV entry during future transactions on the same device. This design simplifies the payment process, keeping users within the merchant’s app and avoiding traditional redirects to external sites.
Yuvraj Singh Shekhawat, Chief Business Officer of Merchant Business at PhonePe Limited, stated, "The introduction of the PhonePe PG Bolt feature for Visa and Mastercard marks a pivotal moment in our mission to streamline digital payments for millions of Indians. By harnessing device tokenisation, we aim to transition users and merchants from the outdated, complex checkout methods to a secure, one-click payment solution.”
He further noted, “This not only boosts user convenience but also enables our merchant partners to enhance their growth through optimal success rates and minimized drop-offs.”
Utilizing PhonePe’s native SDK, merchants can experience improved transaction success rates and significantly quicker checkout times. This efficiency is achieved by removing the need for manual card entry and minimizing technical hand-offs between payment processors.
Moreover, the solution offers merchants a customizable interface that seamlessly integrates into their existing app workflows, ensuring brand consistency while decreasing transaction drop-offs.
