Key Resolutions Passed for Pensioners’ Welfare

On Tuesday, the Pensioners’ Welfare Association of Bharmour convened a significant meeting at Chaurasi Hotel, presided over by President Dheeraj Thakur. The gathering resulted in the unanimous approval of several important resolutions aimed at enhancing the welfare of pensioners.

A major focus of the meeting was the call for a more straightforward process for submitting the annual life certificate. Members expressed concern that elderly and unwell pensioners struggle with this requirement and urged the government to revert to a more user-friendly system that was previously in place, alleviating undue stress on senior citizens.

Additionally, the Association pressed for the prompt resolution of outstanding financial benefits and related issues for employees who retired post-2016. They appealed to the government for a timely resolution of all pending pension cases.

Another resolution highlighted the need for the early disbursement of the upcoming Dearness Allowance (DA) installment, which is due from August 15, to help retirees cope with the increasing cost of living.

Dheeraj Thakur reiterated the Association's dedication to protecting the interests of pensioners and assured that their concerns would be effectively communicated to the government and relevant authorities.

Attendees at the meeting included General Secretary Krishan Thakur, Treasurer Makhouli Ram Patyal, Senior Vice President Chain Singh Thakur, along with other members such as Tara Chand Thakur, Hari Lal, Jagmal Singh, Uttam Singh, Radheshyam Singh, Narayan Singh, Yoganand Verma, and Santosh Kumar.
